NZFW 2012 – Stolen Girlfriends Club pre-show
I’ve been to a lot of fashion shows this week, but Stolen Girlfriends Club was the first that felt like a fashion event. The underground carpark, dim blue lighting and pillars in between what seemed like an endless runway helped create an atmosphere of anticipation. Church bells and a voice over loud speakers beckoned everyone to take their seats. The lights went out, and while seated in darkness, the voice asked the crowd to illuminate their phone-screens. Four models, barely visible, walked through the darkness with only light bulbs in the bags they were carrying, and the brightness from LCD screens to help them see their way. Then, the show began.
