Um, yeah…not really sure what I’m up to here ay. Oh, actually, I think this was my attempt to showcase the Herschel backpack. So seductive, no? I’m wearing a Zara knit, a French Connection skirt my girl Resh gave me from the UK, a Zara peter pan collar top underneath, Baby-G watch, and those trusty leather chucks.

What I Wore x Converse
Katherine is Awesome is, in collaboration with Converse, taking daily street style snaps of five Fashion Festival goers throughout the week. I’m one of them! Oh, the pressure! Oh, the bitch-face! Head over to her site to check out what the other better looking, better dressed four are wearing. UPDATE: Another pic below, from the lovely fellas at FourEyes :
the year in photobooth
So, yeah, I know how eat-arse this is but it was actually kinda fun too. While normal people tend to use the mirror to check how they look before they go out, I’ve gotten into the habit of doing that on photo-booth. I don’t do it every time I leave the house, generally only when I’m wearing make-up to check I don’t look too clownish and to make sure my hair doesn’t look too stupid. I was worried I was the only person who did this, but you guys made me feel like I was not alone on my facebook page, thanks!
Going through these I realised a few things :
1) I really like khaki green, especially my Uniqlo khaki green jacket. 2) I really like pink. 3) I wear the same things a lot. 4) I’ve been making the effort to smile more. 5) Despite previous said efforts, there is still a lot of bitch-face going on. 6) The majority of these are taken in New York, which means I don’t wear make-up that often in NZ, partly because I’m always sleeping in and running late for work so run out of time to do so, and partly because being in another country makes me feel like dressing up more. 7) bright lipstick is fun.
Farmageddon Part 2
As the girls and I crossed the road to walk up the hill that would take us to Farmageddon one of the security guards told us we were the calmest looking ladies he’d seen all day. When we arrived we quickly realised what he was talking about, the crowd were definitely on one. We got there just as The Daylight Robbery took to the stage and when David came on it went nuts, people came running down and rolling (lol!) down the hill. The best part was seeing all the crew who printed off their own #TintSquad tees and singlets.
farmageddon/waipu pt 1.
The lodge where we stayed in Waipu is one of the most serene places I’ve ever been. Sand dunes and meadows, fluffy bunnies bounding through the trees as we drove in, kunekunes and ponies, sheep and alpacas all grazing the grass together. Even the madness of Farmageddon couldn’t shake the relaxed state those surroundings had put me in. Being outdoors in the sunshine in a New Zealand summer is unbeatable.
last day: part 2
This is the greatest photo I have ever taken. Look, the dog is sitting like a human! Aaaanyway, I forgot to mention that Aaradhna performed on the last night of the pop-up store, and she was amazing:
The cutest kid in the world was also in attendance, but cared not for anything except his game:

the last day: part 1
It was a full on and fun week at the Pop Up Store, I loved seeing the excitement on people’s faces as they got their CDs signed and watching people buy their D dot and Go Tell Your Boys tees one night, and return the next night wearing them. Or, as in the picture above, printing up their own David Dallas tee. I know my fellow regular attendees have been bemoaning that fact that we will miss having a regular spot to go to after work to just hang, eat, drink and be merry. Auckland is such a sprawling city with everyone living so far away that’s it’s hard to have a ‘local’. I suppose with summer coming up, it’s probably not such a bad thing to stop drinking beer and eating pizza EVERY night of the week. Rose Tint take-over or not, we will definitely be returning to Conch to re-up on their Acai berry smoothies. Here are a few shots from the last day of the Rose Tint store, more to come:
Il Buco pizza. So good.
Just eating in the store, what of it?
So, I thought this girl and Shirly Shirl were the best dressed of the day
Glamour UK Street Style
Image: Candice Lake
Ha, this is pretty buzzy. Remember when I was hanging round New York Fashion week taking snaps of other people? I got my pic taken a few times too, but apart from this one, I didn’t think any others had surfaced online. I’d started following Candice Lake back then on twitter after I realised she was one of the photogs who’d taken my picture, and she was a pretty amazing one at that, as well as a successful model and a great dresser who is herself often featured on street style blogs. It was only last week though that I clicked through on one of her Street Style links, and, after scrolling through the pages for about 5 minutes, stumbled upon the above photo. I was all, ‘holy crap, that’s me!’ and then I was all, ‘holy crap, that’s some pretty serious bitch face going on!’
I mentioned back here that I’ve had this dress for 3 years, it’s been with me to as many different countries and always makes the travel albums. Gotta love simple, bright summer dresses. Gotta love Country Road.

Behind the Scenes: Start Lookin’ Round
I filmed and edited this. Oh, and the diner David gets his ice cream float from? The Kitchenette, of course.
